Wakita Shepherds

      Libby is a beautiful, active 1 year old female. She is available to a foster home. Libby has been well socialized with other dogs and people of all ages. She loves everybody and is especially good with babies and children. She has never been around cats or large animals. She is house trained and well behaved in the house.She has had her hips and elbows preliminary xrayed and is free of hip and elbow dysplasia.Her vaccinations are current. She is a very active dog and would need to be with people who are also active and would do lots with her. She should have obedience classes right away and then would love to learn anything else that her family would like to do with her. She would excell at obedience, tracking, herding, flyball or agility.She would remain in my name and would be a part of my breeding program but would live with her foster family. She would come back here probably once a year to be bred and to have her puppies. I would be responsible for all expenses relating to the breeding, whelping and raising of her puppies and her foster family would be responsible for her daily expenses and vet costs.Once I decide that she should be retired from breeding, she would be signed over to her foster family. Her foster family would have to meet the following criteria:

  1. Live within a 150 km  radius of Wakita Shepherds.

   2.Be willing to bring her back here occasionally for visits.

   3.Be willing to take her to obedience classes plus other classes such as agility, tracking etc. to keep her busy and active.                                                                                       

    4. Be vigilant and keep her safe from other dogs when she is in heat to prevent her from being bred accidentally.

     5. Must have had experience with a high prey drive German Shepherd

      6. Be willing to have her as part of their family and live in the house with them.

       7.Be willing to bring her here for several days to be bred and then back here for 1 week prior  to having puppies and for 8 weeks after.

        8.Must take Libby to the vet once a year for her checkup and vaccinations.
